The Jam is directly opposite The Stone Roses Bar, on the other side of the square. The music is exactly the same, and has a link from the DJ accross the way. It is a busy bar, but a little more chilled out than the Roses. It tends to attract a quieter clientel who love the music, but want a quieter drink.
The Jam is in a perfect position to sit back, relax and people watch. EVERYTHING happens at some point in the main square, and a very entertaining night can be had by mellowing out to the music, watching the world go by, and being waited on hand and foot by the staff!
